Bio

Peter is an architect, photographer, sculptor and visual artist.

His work revolves around urban memory, objects of identity and more recently, the industrial picturesque. A self-professed polymath, his experience extends beyond the confines of built architecture to include photography, sculpture and urbanism. The work navigates the margins of architecture and the city, sifting through the trappings and detritus of progress in the attempt to reveal the disjunction between the idealized aspects of intention and its constructed double.

Ongoing projects include The Infratectural Condition: Photographic Epistemology and the Industrial Image, a project documenting hidden but crucial industrial ecologies and frontiers and Recalling Amnesia, an ongoing opus documenting the schism of the idealized city through monumentality, memory and landmarks.

Completed works include Postcards from the Disposable City and Perspectives from the Ideal City, and Personal State, a project awarded the Architecture and Design Excellence Award 2012. Other works include the Bench Project, a URA design initiative in repurposing salvaged wooden benches from the old National Stadium as public seating and Reed Sculpture, a public art commission as the recipient of the CDL Singapore Sculpture Award.

As an educator, he has taught at the School of Art Design and Media in NTU, Singapore Polytechnic, Lasalle-SIA College of the Arts and the Department of Architecture in NUS.
